Nearly 2/3 of working Americans have now experienced two massive recessions in their lifetime, and understandably, this has changed their risk calculation around large purchases. This comes at a time when big ticket items have never been more important to the health of retailers, with margins that offset the “race to the bottom” of commoditized goods.
