Never have supply chains been upended to the degree they were in 2020. The pandemic exposed some weaknesses; the large-scale disruptions it has wrought produced various mitigation strategies, including adding local manufacturing capabilities, creating safety stocks and instituting more frequent stress test of the network. It also served to drive home how critical the supply chain is to retailers in serving customers and maintaining margins. A look at what we've learned and where we go from here.
