Mariano launched Appalatch in 2012 in rural North Carolina using a hyper-local supply chain, and produced 5,000 on-demand knit products (3,000 custom-fit). Mariano was previously in charge of teams and global campaigns for international NGOs working on solutions to fight inequality. He did graduate studies at Harvard.
